I believe that there is a way to create a better and more successful
Punisher on screen. Not just for the
comic book fans, but for fans of action films, fans of violence, and fans of
the iconic antihero. Frank Castle is
more than a man with guns - he is a dead man on a mission. He needs to finally be represented with
respect. I believe I can do this. So I made a short fan film called The Dead
Can’t Be Distracted. - Mike Pecci

Mike Pecci | Grindhouse
"I kind of feel like somebody else might have felt a long time ago when they were shown My Best Friend’s Birthday – the little known movie that Tarantino made before he went on to unleash Reservoir Dogs. The feeling pretty much comes down to something like ‘I’m in the presence of something special here, something on the edge of breaking through…'" – Skin Deep Magazine

As the cinematographer for a documentary, being able to think creatively during high stress situations is key.You will be trying to find the best shot under the tightest time constraints, and you can’t be afraid to be constantly searching, constantly tweaking, to make the film better.Having a lighting kit that runs completely on batteries allows you to do some amazing setups and remote locations and lets you put lights wherever you want. This seminar will show examples of Mike’s recent work and give you an inside look at the kits he travels with. With the aid of fellow cameraman Anthony Jarvis, he will show us an example of the type of lighting they use.Mike Pecci has been a film director, photographer, & cinematographer for over 14 years. He is currently co-owner of McFarland & Pecci where he has shot and co-directed music videos, short films, and documentaries.
It's scheduled for 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 21, Dedham Holiday Inn in the PATIO ROOM.

READ IT HERE: http://blog.sekonic.com/2012/03/20/mike-peccis-grindhouse-schooling/
Boston photographer and filmmaker Mike Pecci has never left his hometown for long. Aside from a stint at film school in New York, Pecci has remained in Boston, a testament to the independent spirit of the arts in that town.
Although he likes to work in Los Angeles and New York, he won’t be relocating his home base and studio in Boston any time soon. “I like being around people who are filmmakers because you’re actually hanging out with real folks, hearing real stories, and being inspired by real life. It’s a good city,” he says.
Drawn to illustration and movies as a child, Pecci was diligent in his research to help aid his artistic career goals. At a community college, he discovered the world of production design, seeing it from a crafts standpoint, and not completely from a storyteller’s viewpoint. He decided this was what he wanted to do, “because it takes all the elements of everything I love—music, illustration, and all that—and puts it all together in one big package,” he says. It was at that moment he wanted to be a filmmaker.

Test Kitchen - Mike Pecci
Watch it here: https://vimeo.com/76149687
The Test Kitchen is something we do at McFarand & Pecci whenever we
have a spare moment. It’s an opportunity for us to test out new
techniques, gear, or shooting ideas and share it with the crew. This
time around we got a hook up from the lovely folks at Quixote Studio in
Boston and brought in some new toys to test. Nikon shipped us out some
fantastic new lenses and I fell in love with the Nikor 20mm lens. We
have a few projects coming up that require a lot of movement with
compact cameras so we wanted to see how the Nikon D800 would mount to a
specially rigged Zcuto cage. Ikan also let us test run their LED 1x1’s.
They are battery powered and have a sweet digital control panel on the
back allowing us to dial in specific brightness and color levels. They
also have remote controls that can work on all the lights or just
individuals. We wanted to see what sort of flares we got using them
with the lenses. Expect to see this stuff used on our next piece.
Check out some of the clips that we shot with a slight low contrast
setting and without and color grading. Drop me a line if you have any
